RALLY on Wednesday July 7th at the State Capitol
The Georgia Charter Schools Commission is a state-level, independent charter school authorizing entity which has the power to approve or deny petitions for commission charter schools and renew, non-renew, or terminate commission charter school petitions in accordance with Georgia law. On June 18, 2010 The Georgia Charter School Commission denied the application for a GCA High School which means that 8th grade GCA students cannot continue their academic education with GCA and new enrollees interested in GCA HS won’t have that option available to them. They also approved a funding formula for virtual schools that is BELOW what GCA currently receives.
So what can you do as a parent to make your voice heard and let legislators know that you are outraged about these decisions?
1- The Georgia Families for Public Virtual Education is sponsoring an online petition that you can sign to show your outrage.
2- While you are at the site, sign up for updates to keep informed about public virtual learning in Georgia.

This is such a joke that they are cutting funding. Tracy and I are not happy about it and we did the petition against this. We love the program and hope they can find a way to stop the cuts
Hope lots of parents like you sign the petition and attend the Rally tomorrow.
My recent post Rally at the Georgia State Capitol
I've talked to a lot of people who cannot attend the rally but I'm encouraging them to sign the petition at the very least.
