National Preparedness Month

The month of September is National Preparedness Month, in remembrance of September 11, 2001. It is a time to consider what we would do in the event of a disaster, whether man-made or natural disaster. Check out Ready.gov for ways to strengthen your family’s preparedness.

1. PREPARE

2. PLAN

3. STAY INFORMED

Last month I hooked up with Holly at Diamond Potential for Awareness Wednesday and I received this awesome award

Awareness Award Button

for helping to make parents aware of public school options

Today I’m hooking up with Holly again to encourage everyone to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies.  The Ready Campaign helps to educate and empower us to prepare for emergencies, including natural disasters.  Taking simple steps today could ensure the safety and well-being of those you love.

  2. Preparation is what my life is all about. So many people do not really prepare or even keep a BOB bag available for all family members. When it is too late they will wish they had. It's good that you and Holly are promoting this.

  3. Thanks for linking up and helping bring attention to such an important cause! The past few days with the wildfire just south of us that affected our friends was a real eye opener. One of the families that lost their home was totally unprepared in every way and have lost everything as far as possessions and momentos of memories goes. Thankfully there were NO lives lost. They are still fighting the fires but it is mostly getting contained. Many are still not allowed back in their homes. (((HUGS))) for being such an AWESOME participant and supporter!! ;D
