Tribute To The Troops with Sarah Palin

Last night’s event at Colorado Christian University (CCU) was kicked off with a trumpet fanfare, followed by a welcome from former Senator John Andrews, the National Anthem sung by Legacy, and the presenting and posting of the Colors by Civil Air Patrol Valkyrie Cadet Squadron’s (VCS) Color Guard commanded by C/1st Lt Sean Cooney.

The rally honored our Armed Forces and Veterans showing appreciation to our nation’s men and women in uniform past and present, both at home and abroad.

All proceeds from the event were donated to TAPS, a tragedy assistance resource for anyone who has suffered the loss of a military loved one. The event included an auction which raised $24,000 from these items.

We were joined via Skype by Amy Justice, an alumni of CCU who is now a Staff Sergeant serving in Kuwait. She expressed how the support from back home is so meaningful to all who are serving.
Sarah Palin’s remarks were simple but carried so much meaning. You can listen to her speech below.
The VCS Color Guard was very honored to have had the opportunity to meet Sarah Palin and privileged to participate in such an event!
