Youth Leadership Initiative National Mock Election and Constitutional Convention

Every year I give a shout out to the Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI) which conducts the largest secure, student-only online mock election in the nation. These Mock Elections provide the opportunity for students to establish a habit of voting and engaging with our democracy.

Below is the e-mail I received with all the information for you to get your children/students started.

Votes are now being cast in the 2013 Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI) National Mock Election and Constitutional Convention, and it’s not too late for you to be a part of the program!

As a YLI teacher you are automatically registered to participate. All your students need in order to vote is a computer open to www.youthleadership.net and your teacher code. If you don’t know your teacher code, log in and you will find it in the upper right corner above the clouds. Voting concludes on Thursday, October 31 at 6PM Eastern Time. All K-12 students are encouraged to participate! It’s EASY and FREE!

Use YLI’s Mock Election Press Release Template to inform your local media and your community about the important work you are doing building a citizenry excited about voting and civic engagement.
