Last night, GOAL Academy National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony was held at the GOAL Academy Aurora Education Center; it was a wonderful evening recognizing amazing students. Two GOAL Academy NHS students from Colorado Springs, Charan Gibbs and Daniel Trimble led the ceremony. We were joined by Monique Reynoso and Jasmine Reynoso who were among the student inductees. The other inductees included, Natalee Martinez, Erin Ornedas, and Jack Taft.
The GOAL Academy charter of the National Honor Society was installed in 2013. Students that have attended GOAL Academy for at least one semester as a sophomore, junior, or senior, and have a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA are eligible for membership. Students not only must have excellent academic achievements, but be of good character, and have a desire to become a leader and provide service to their communities and beyond.
This nationally-recognized organization has four main purposes: “To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.” (From the NHS Constitution) The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 and is one of the oldest student recognition organizations in the U.S.
This year there are 59 NHS GOAL Academy members and out of those 59, 11 will graduate this year. Congratulations to all of the NHS Inductees and those who will graduate this school year. Your dedication and commitment to education, community, service, leadership, and character are commendable.
Thank you to the GOAL Staff for all you do to support our students!
